Astrochemistry

Astrochemistry is what I do for a living as a graduate student–an exciting mix of astronomy and chemistry. My grad project is about the chemical processes involved in the formation of stars and planets. To learn more about this, please proceed to the astrochemistry section of my homepage.

Technical note: The astrochemistry pages are hosted on a different server than my weblog, so the automatically generated astrochemistry tab in the horizontal menu bar can’t link there directly. However, the links in the menu on the right do work properly and directly.

I have a BS in Chemistry and plan to attend the University of Houston Clear Lake for graduate school in chemistry. I plan to do my research in theoretical/computational chemistry involving the chirality of amino acids as related to origins of life. Do you think this is a good research topic? What about the job market? NASA? SETI? Should I take planetary geology and/or planetary science?

    Thanks,

    Larry Carothers
